What impressed me about Johntom was his positive attitude in himself and in others. He was alway there with a friendly hello and smile. He will be missed.
I was sad to hear of Johntom's heart attack and sudden death. Mainly, I remember him from Lutheran Sunday School; our mothers were good friends. Although we moved in different circles in high school, I had a good talk with him at the picnic at our 50th reunion. I took this picture, which shows that smile that Guy remembers.
Thank you for sharing the photo, Jane, I must of missed him at the reunion. Most of my memories of Johntom are from Franklin grade school. I too remember that smile and his kind manner.
At my age I should be steeled to this kind of news , but it is a shock. I too had a chance to chat with Johntom at Avery Park during the 50th. I was sitting a couple people away from that photo. Started laughing with him at Franklin, in the 3rd grade, and he never let up. 10 years of good humor and mischievious events. That was a good talk we had three years ago, still the same laugh. I too miss him.
