I do remember her, but like so many of our class, didn't get to know her. It appears she lived quite a life!

Ms Ellis was a vault of charm, wit, compassion, and intelligence. She liked Country Joe & the Fish, too.

Kristy always seemed to me a special, almost mystical, almost transcendental being. Admittedly, I hardly knew her, but she seemed so wise, elusive, intelligent, and pretty.

I always imagined she would go on to lead an exceptional, highly achieving, creative, and noteworthy life. Reading her obituary now from the Swarthmore 1973 class website makes me think my premonitions were largely fulfilled in her life.

Thank you, Kristy, for being who you were!

I knew Kristy Ellis – Myrriah – best in the years right after high school, when she and Kristi Hansen and I did several backpacking trips in the Cascades.  It’s hard to remember the details – only that those trips were wonderful.  I do remember hiding under a sheet of plastic to keep the mosquitoes off, laughing the whole time.  On one trip, our alarm clocks failed and we were late coming back to town – so we missed seeing the moon landing on TV.

We stayed friends for several years and then lost contact.  Periodically, I’ve Googled her name, without much luck – until this time, when I found the announcement from Swarthmore.

Kristy was loved and admired by many of her classmates.  But I don’t think she ever realized how much people cared.

Jane, your last two sentences were very powerfully said. We all need to be affirmed and as young teens we probably weren't aware of that. There were so many of us and it was easy to feel alone in the crowds. I got my yearbook out and looked back at all the photos and interests Kristy had and groups and activities she was in. I also noted she was mentioned as "most likely to succeed".

I  can only echo what Mary Lou has said.

I remember Kristy as well. We had a few classes together and sat close because of our last names. I am very sorry that I didn't make the time to get to know her. Like so many of our passing classmates, I wish I could have taken the opportunity to have been less of a stranger .

I don't remember Kristy very well.  One classmate I'll have to refer to the yearbook to refresh my memory. It's very sad, from a class of 560, Kristy is the 92 classmate we have lost. Lost but not forgotten!!  RIP Kristy.   broken heart
